Dr. Alainna Wen is a University of California President's Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her fellowship project centers on elucidating the neurobiological mechanisms of risk for internalizing disorders in ethnic and racial minorities.
Dr. Wen's research integrates affective, clinical, and diversity science, and centers on transdiagnostic emotional processes in the risk and treatment of internalizing disorders such as depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress. Her recent work focuses on emotion regulation diversity, a novel construct she conceptualized and operationalized. She is interested in using multimethod techniques to identify novel internalizing psychopathology risk factors and mechanisms that can serve as treatment targets, particularly for ethnic and racial minorities.Â
Dr. Wen received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Advanced Quantitative Social Science from the University of Notre Dame and completed her APA-accredited clinical internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
